Preparation: Understanding The Value of ISO 9001
In our audio FAQ, we explain that ISO 9001:2008 is maintained by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization. Because ISO 9000 standards are internationally recognized, they facilitate global trade and have been adopted by more than 175 countries throughout the world.
The ISO 9001 quality management system is applicable to organizations of any size, anywhere in the world and is not restricted only to manufacturing businesses. ISO 9001 prescribes systematic control of activities and processes, to ensure that the needs and expectations of customers are met. Today, customers demand quality and expect suppliers to proactively comply with the highest product and service standards.

Implementation: Developing Your Quality System
To become ISO 9001:2008 certified you will need to learn about the many requirements of the standard and how they apply to your business. All requirements of ISO 9001:2008 are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of the type, size and product provided. Some of the steps involved in implementation include conducting a gap analysis, establishing quality objectives, creating process diagrams and developing documentation, such as a quality management system (QMS) manual. Staff training and a pre-certification audit are also involved in implementation.
A company must be independently audited and certified to be in conformance with the standard, before it can publicly state it is ISO 9001 certified. This certification is completed by a third-party, known as a registrar. BIZPHYX does not certify or register you to ISO 9001. We prepare you for this certification.
Sometimes companies think it is easy to purchase templates and attempt to build a quality management system on their own. Certifying to the standard is a
